Our Story
The Celebration Center began with the birth of a vision in the hearts of Danny and Sharon Meads in late summer of 1999. Having felt led of the Lord that their present place of service was over, they began to seek the Lord for direction for their family in ministry. As the vision began to unfold, they sought direction and counsel from other ministers and lay persons who joined them in prayer.
In September of 1999, they, along with several other families, met at Huguenot Park under a picnic shelter to share the vision and pray for God’s direction. It was decided that day that the vision for a new fellowship was God’s will, and that we would move forward. We continued to meet at Huguenot Park each Sunday to pray and uplift one another, and to continue to seek direction from the Lord.
Greenfield Elementary School was secured as a meeting place for worship, and the first service of The Celebration Center was held on October 3, 1999 with 97 people in attendance. It continues to prosper in the Lord as we seek to fulfill the vision God has given us. To God be the glory!
Statement of Faith
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of Holy Men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine(II Timothy 3:16; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:21).
Vision Statement
Mission Statement
The Celebration Center seeks to reach those in the world and the Body of Christ who are “in distress, in debt, and discontented” (1 Samuel 22:2), and to form an army of believers that will make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
The mission of this church is based on the scripture, “but be doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22) We will seek to obey this scripture through Discipleship, Outreach, Evangelism, Reconciliation, and Servanthood.
This is My Bible! Every time I open this Book it has the power to radically transform my life. Today I receive the life changing, life giving, life sustaining, energizing Word of God! It is alive and makes me alive! I will be a hearer of the Word! I will be a doer of the Word! In Jesus' name. Amen!
